I am a speech-language pathologist with extensive experience working with both pediatric and adult clients. I graduated from James Madison University with a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Additionally, I earned a Master of Arts degree in French from the University of Virginia. I hold both the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association as well as full licensure from the Virginia Board of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. Over the course of my career, I have worked with pediatric clients in private schools, outpatient clinics, and early intervention settings. I also enjoy my part-time work in a rehabilitation hospital where I treat adult patients recovering from illnesses and injuries such as strokes, traumatic brain injuries, and spinal cord injuries. I bring a passion for helping all of my clients reach their highest possible level of communication and swallowing.
I am dedicated to providing individualized and comprehensive therapy services to children with a wide range of speech, language, and communication disorders. I understand that every child is unique and requires a customized approach to therapy. That is why I take the time to thoroughly assess each child and develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses their specific needs and goals. Therapy sessions are engaging, fun and designed to make learning enjoyable for children. I believe that open communication and collaboration with families is crucial to the success of therapy. My goal is to help each child reach their full potential and develop strong communication skills that will serve them well both in school and in life. I am passionate about supporting children's development and seeing them gain confidence in expressing themselves.
Some of my areas of interest include speech sound errors, early language delays, and language disorders. I have also completed training in orofacial myofunctional therapy. I am a certified LSVT LOUD clinician, which is a speech treatment program for individuals with Parkinson's disease, Cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and other neurological conditions. Through my work, I aim to help all of my clients improve their speech and language skills so they can effectively communicate and participate fully in school, work, and social activities. I take pride in using evidence-based techniques and building strong relationships with both children and adults.
